I moved to Rome, started working in tourism, and quickly realized the tour I actually wanted to go on didn't exist.
I'm an avid solo traveler myself, and every tour I found was the same: boring, forgettable, a history lecture for an older crowd. I wanted something different, a way to actually learn about the city I was living in, meet people, and have fun, in a space that felt safe and welcoming.
So I built it myself. I'm the type of person who keeps edible glitter in my handbag just in case I get bored at dinner. I'm the queen of side quests. I wanted an experience that made people feel fabulous, glamorous, a little bit iconic, the kind of night you actually want to be tagged in. Girly Pop Tours is built for the girls, the gays, and the theys, because that's who I wanted in the room.
We always end up somewhere sparkly, usually a rooftop bar with a glittery drink in hand. And even in this short time being operational, we've already built a real sense of community around it.
I'm sparkly, I'm a little bit chaotic, and I'm proudly Irish. This is an Irish-founded company, and I want that to travel with us everywhere we go next.
